In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Old Sea Captain by Randall Davey. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,352.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Randall Davey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hialeah, Going To The Post in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 40,625.00 (€ 30,851.31).

Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Sea Captain von Randall Davey zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.352,40) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Randall Davey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hialeah, Going To The Post im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.625,00 (€ 30.851,31).
