Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Third Avenue Elevated, No. 4 by Ralston Crawford. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,462.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Third Avenue Elevated, No. 4 von Ralston Crawford zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.462,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
