In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Barn, Exton, Pennsylvania by Ralston Crawford. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 55,020.63) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barn, Exton, Pennsylvania von Ralston Crawford zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 55.020,63) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
