Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ralston Crawford achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Wharf Objects No. 3 sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 14,204.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralston Crawford erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Wharf Objects No. 3 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 14.204,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
