Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II, which included the work Mary's Restaurant, New Orleans, c. 1953 by Ralston Crawford. The price achieved of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,156.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralston Crawford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flour Mill #2 in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 654,400.00 (€ 552,609.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs Including Crossing America: Photographs from The Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mary's Restaurant, New Orleans, c. 1953 von Ralston Crawford zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.156,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralston Crawford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flour Mill #2 im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 654.400,00 (€ 552.609,36).
