The work Ghoulish nightmare by Ralph Steadman was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental auction at Christies in London in December 2005. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 870.87) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 900.00. Admittedly, works by Ralph Steadman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hunger in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,981.18).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Ghoulish nightmare von Ralph Steadman wurde im Dezember 2005 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Oriental bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 870,87) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Steadman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hunger im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.981,18).
