Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Boy with clock and mirror) by Ralph Eugene Meatyard was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 3,025.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ralph Eugene Meatyard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 33,600.00 (€ 24,597.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Boy with clock and mirror) von Ralph Eugene Meatyard kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 3.025,05) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Eugene Meatyard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, (Flag - derelict interior with Christopher), 1960 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.600,00 (€ 24.597,36).
