In March 2006 Christies in New York held the auction MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART, which included this untitled work by Rajendra Dhawan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,874.04), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rajendra Dhawan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repetitive Breathing, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ART durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rajendra Dhawan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.874,04) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Rajendra Dhawan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repetitive Breathing beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81) versteigert wurde.
