Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Rajendra Dhawan was sold in the Indian Art including Miniatures and Modern Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. The price achieved of USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,767.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rajendra Dhawan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Repetitive Breathing, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Rajendra Dhawan wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion Indian Art including Miniatures and Modern Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.767,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rajendra Dhawan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Repetitive Breathing beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81) versteigert wurde.
