This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 95,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rafiee Ghani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Beginning Of The Red Sea sold at auction in April 2017 with the realized price of HKD 325,000.00 (€ 38,361.63).
