Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2002 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES, which included the work The last embrace of foes: a Bedouin horseman attacked by a lion by Raden Saleh. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 454,100.00 (€ 58,916.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raden Saleh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wounded Lion in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 654,077.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion SOUTHEAST ASIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit The last embrace of foes: a Bedouin horseman attacked by a lion von Raden Saleh zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 400.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 454.100,00 (€ 58.916,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raden Saleh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wounded Lion im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 654.077,94).
