This artwork by Raden Saleh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2015. In the Topographical Pictures auction, the work A lion and lioness attacking a crocodile sold for GBP 116,500.00 (€ 162,954.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Raden Saleh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wounded Lion in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 654,077.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Raden Saleh erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Topographical Pictures wurde die Arbeit A lion and lioness attacking a crocodile für GBP 116.500,00 (€ 162.954,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Raden Saleh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wounded Lion im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 654.077,94).
