A top price for Raden Saleh - as previously expected
The work Wounded Lion by Raden Saleh was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. The price achieved of HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 654,077.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 6,000,000.00 – 8,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Wounded Lion is the most expensive artwork by Raden Saleh that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Wounded Lion von Raden Saleh kam im November 2010 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 654.077,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 6.000.000,00 – 8.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Wounded Lion das teuerste Kunstwerk von Raden Saleh, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
