It achieved a price of EUR 13,750.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 53 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raden Saleh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wounded Lion in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 654,077.94).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Ary Prins (1816-1867) von Raden Saleh kam im September 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 13.750,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raden Saleh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wounded Lion im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 654.077,94).
