The work Ringmark by Rachel Whiteread was sold in the Evening & Day Editions auction at Phillips in London in January last year. It achieved a price of GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,963.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Whiteread achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Colours) in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 445,250.00 (€ 565,695.14).

Die Arbeit Ringmark von Rachel Whiteread wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.638,00 (€ 1.963,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Whiteread erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Colours) im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 445.250,00 (€ 565.695,14).
