This artwork by Rachel Ruysch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2013. In the Old Master & British Paintings auction, the work Still Life With Marigolds, Morning Glory, A Passion Flower And Other Assorted Flowers, Together With Insects On A Stone Ledge sold for GBP 134,500.00 (€ 158,717.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Ruysch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Tulips, A Sunflower And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Bee, Butterfly And Other Insects Upon A Marble Ledge in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,885,983.93).
