In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Peaches, grapes and plums with a dragonfly, snail, caterpillar, butterfly and other insects on a stone ledge sold for USD 212,500.00 (€ 183,950.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Ruysch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Tulips, A Sunflower And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Bee, Butterfly And Other Insects Upon A Marble Ledge in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,885,983.93).
