Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A swag of grapes, hollyhocks, irises, mallow, African marigolds, clematis, a horse chestnut and blackberries with butterflies and other insects suspended before a stone arch by Rachel Ruysch was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 137,500.00 (€ 121,337.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rachel Ruysch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life Of Roses, Tulips, A Sunflower And Other Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Bee, Butterfly And Other Insects Upon A Marble Ledge in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 1,650,500.00 (€ 1,885,983.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 137.500,00 (€ 121.337,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rachel Ruysch erzielen.
