Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Buckminster Fuller could be acquired at Christies in Los Angeles in December 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS auction, the work Dymaxion Maps changed hands for USD 1,880.00 (€ 2,002.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Buckminster Fuller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dymaxion Air - Ocean World Map, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,348.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Buckminster Fuller konnte im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS wechselte die Arbeit Dymaxion Maps für USD 1.880,00 (€ 2.002,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Buckminster Fuller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dymaxion Air - Ocean World Map beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.348,19) versteigert wurde.
