Upper estimate price exceeded by 98 %.
This artwork by Qian Du achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Scholar Under A Pine sold for HKD 554,400.00 (€ 59,357.21) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Qian Du - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rocky Cliffs, which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 134,830.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qian Du erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Scholar Under A Pine für HKD 554.400,00 (€ 59.357,21) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 280.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Qian Du mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rocky Cliffs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 134.830,43) versteigert wurde.
