A top price for Qian Du
The work Rocky Cliffs by Qian Du was worth HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 134,830.43) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Rocky Cliffs the most expensive artwork by Qian Du that we have observed at auctions so far.
