This artwork by Qian Du achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Lofty Mountan In Summer sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,459.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Qian Du have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rocky Cliffs in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 1,460,000.00 (€ 134,830.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qian Du erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Lofty Mountan In Summer für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.459,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qian Du auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rocky Cliffs im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.460.000,00 (€ 134.830,43).
