Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Head of a man in a turban looking upwards; and A bearded man looking upwards by Pieter Coecke van Aelst was auctioned at Christies in New York in January 2009. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,810.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Coecke van Aelst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,166,000.00 (€ 2,608,982.28).
