This artwork by Pieter Coecke van Aelst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2013. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work The Rest On The Flight Into Egypt sold for GBP 218,500.00 (€ 262,821.61) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter Coecke van Aelst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,166,000.00 (€ 2,608,982.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pieter Coecke van Aelst erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit The Rest On The Flight Into Egypt für GBP 218.500,00 (€ 262.821,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Coecke van Aelst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.166.000,00 (€ 2.608.982,28).
