This artwork by Pieter Coecke van Aelst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2010. In the Old Master Paintings and British Paintings auction, the work The Holy Family, The Flight Into Egypt Beyond sold for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 70,486.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pieter Coecke van Aelst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,166,000.00 (€ 2,608,982.28).
