The work Saint Jerome In His Study by Pieter Coecke van Aelst was sold in the Renaissance auction at Christies in New York in January 2015. The »bidding war« ended at USD 665,000.00 (€ 589,016.83), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Coecke van Aelst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple in January 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,166,000.00 (€ 2,608,982.28).

Die Arbeit Saint Jerome In His Study von Pieter Coecke van Aelst wurde im Januar 2015 in der Auktion Renaissance bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 665.000,00 (€ 589.016,83) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Coecke van Aelst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.166.000,00 (€ 2.608.982,28).
