In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of Hester Diamond Part I, which included the work A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple by Pieter Coecke van Aelst. The price achieved of USD 3,166,000.00 (€ 2,608,982.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A triptych: The Nativity, The Adoration of the Magi, The Presentation in the Temple is the most expensive artwork by Pieter Coecke van Aelst that we have observed at auctions so far.
