Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Farmyard with Sheep & Female Nude: Bust Portrait (A Double-Sided Work) by Piet Mondrian was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 81,900.00 (€ 69,743.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piet Mondrian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition No. III, with Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black, 1929 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 50,565,000.00 (€ 45,993,269.06).
