Despite a disappointment, a good price for Pierre Roussel
In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Oliver et Jacques Travaillant by Pierre Roussel for USD 3,760.00 (€ 4,197.37). This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Oliver et Jacques Travaillant is the most expensive artwork by Pierre Roussel that we have observed at auction so far.
