Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Johann Christoph Schönbeck (1745-1836), wine merchant, in brown coat, yellow and blue striped waistcoat, white knotted cravat, powdered hair en queue, seated on a wooden chair by Pierre-Édouard Dagoty. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 656.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Pierre-Édouard Dagoty have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two young ladies: one lady, full face in white dress, frilled lace cuffs and blue sash, a crucifix suspended from a black ribbon around her neck, drop gold earrings, her dark hair upswept in a filet; the other lady, facing right in white dress with b in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,27
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes durch, in der auch die Arbeit Johann Christoph Schönbeck (1745-1836), wine merchant, in brown coat, yellow and blue striped waistcoat, white knotted cravat, powdered hair en queue, seated on a wooden chair von Pierre-Édouard Dagoty zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 656,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden.
