In November 2009 Christies in London held the auction Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work Unknown by Pierre-Édouard Dagoty. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,830.30), 17% above the upper estimate. Other works by Pierre-Édouard Dagoty have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,279.24) in May 2000 for the work Two young ladies: one lady, full face in white dress, frilled lace cuffs and blue sash, a crucifix suspended from a black ribbon around her neck, drop gold earrings, her dark hair upswept in a filet; the other lady, facing right in white dress with b.
