Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Lady Mary Watson Wentworth, half-length, in a blue dress, within a painted oval by Philippe Mercier was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,321.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Mercier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Allegories Of The Five Senses: Hearing, Smell, Sight, Taste And Touch in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 386,500.00 (€ 278,658.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Lady Mary Watson Wentworth, half-length, in a blue dress, within a painted oval von Philippe Mercier wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.321,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
