Edwards, 'Early conversation Pictures', 1954, n°80, repr.).

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait d'Eleanor Brownlow, vicomtesse Tyrconnel by Philippe Mercier was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in November last year. The price achieved of EUR 5,248.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Mercier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Allegories Of The Five Senses: Hearing, Smell, Sight, Taste And Touch in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 386,500.00 (€ 278,658.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait d'Eleanor Brownlow, vicomtesse Tyrconnel von Philippe Mercier kam im November letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.248,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philippe Mercier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Allegories Of The Five Senses: Hearing, Smell, Sight, Taste And Touch im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 386.500,00 (€ 278.658,98).
