Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin With The Swaddled Child by Philippe de Champaigne was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2017. The price achieved of EUR 60,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philippe de Champaigne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Holy Family with a Sparrow in June 2012 with an auction result of USD 578,500.00 (€ 456,662.46).

Die Arbeit The Virgin With The Swaddled Child von Philippe de Champaigne kam im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 60.000,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philippe de Champaigne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Holy Family with a Sparrow im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 578.500,00 (€ 456.662,46).
