Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, traditionally identified as Noël de Bullion (d. 1670), half-length, in black with lace collar and sleve, his gloves in his left hand by Philippe de Champaigne was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century ArtDay Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2009. The price achieved of GBP 39,650.00 (€ 44,990.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe de Champaigne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family with a Sparrow in June 2012 with an auction result of USD 578,500.00 (€ 456,662.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, traditionally identified as Noël de Bullion (d. 1670), half-length, in black with lace collar and sleve, his gloves in his left hand von Philippe de Champaigne wurde im Juli 2009 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century ArtDay Sale bei Christies in London versteigert.
