Auction result well in line with expectations
The work School For Girls by Philippe Mercier was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,175.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philippe Mercier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Allegories Of The Five Senses: Hearing, Smell, Sight, Taste And Touch in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 386,500.00 (€ 278,658.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit School For Girls von Philippe Mercier kam im April 2013 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.175,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philippe Mercier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Allegories Of The Five Senses: Hearing, Smell, Sight, Taste And Touch im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 386.500,00 (€ 278.658,98).
