The work The laying of the foundation-stone of Victoria College, Jersey, 24th May 1850 (illustrated); and Victoria College and grounds by Philip John Ouless was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2011. It achieved a price of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,131.50), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip John Ouless achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View taken from under South Hill, St Helier, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 68,891.66).
