Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A folio of twelve sketches of maritime and continental views including: the trading vessel Villa Franca of New York (illustrated); and A paddle steamer in rough seas; A study of an English paddle steamer by Philip John Ouless was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip John Ouless achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View taken from under South Hill, St Helier, Jersey in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 57,650.00 (€ 68,891.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A folio of twelve sketches of maritime and continental views including: the trading vessel Villa Franca of New York (illustrated); and A paddle steamer in rough seas; A study of an English paddle steamer von Philip John Ouless im März 2011 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
