Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Guided Missal by Philip Jackson was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,783.28). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Jackson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Don, which sold at auction in April 2014 for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 45,646.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Guided Missal von Philip Jackson im September 2020 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.783,28) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Jackson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Don beobachtet, die im April 2014 für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 45.646,18) versteigert wurde.
