Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Viscountess Byng of Vimy, née Marie Evelyn Moreton, half-length, wearing a dark stole over her dress, drop earrings, a long necklace and a Prince of Wales feather brooch at her breast by Philip Alexius de László was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,261.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Alexius de László achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mrs Adrian van Montagu, née Anne Mabel Olivia Trouton in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 325,017.81).

Die Arbeit Viscountess Byng of Vimy, née Marie Evelyn Moreton, half-length, wearing a dark stole over her dress, drop earrings, a long necklace and a Prince of Wales feather brooch at her breast von Philip Alexius de László kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.261,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
