Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mrs. William Burden, A. M. (née Margaret Livingston Partridge) by Philip Alexius de László was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 47,880.00 (€ 41,447.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Alexius de László have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mrs Adrian van Montagu, née Anne Mabel Olivia Trouton in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 325,017.81).
