Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Lady Orr-Lewis, née Maude Helen Mary Booth by Philip Alexius de László was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in July 2021. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,590.61) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Alexius de László achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mrs Adrian van Montagu, née Anne Mabel Olivia Trouton in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 325,017.81).
