In June 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Twentieth Century Art including Belgian Art, which included the work Selfportrait by Philip Akkerman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,629.00 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Philip Akkerman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work (i) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 1990, nr. 17(ii) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 2000, nr. 40 (iii) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 2006, nr. 113 in October this year with an auction result of EUR 10,710.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Twentieth Century Art including Belgian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Selfportrait von Philip Akkerman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.629,00 und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Akkerman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit (i) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 1990, nr. 17(ii) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 2000, nr. 40 (iii) Philip Akkerman, schilderij 2006, nr. 113 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.710,00.
