In December 2021 Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work The game seller by Petrus van Schendel. The result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 71,567.41) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Petrus van Schendel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch the Market Place, Rotterdam in May 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 624,287.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The game seller von Petrus van Schendel zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 71.567,41) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Petrus van Schendel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dutch the Market Place, Rotterdam im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 624.287,25).
