In the 19th Century and British Impressionist Art auction, the work The vegetable stall by candlelight sold for GBP 43,812.50 (€ 48,650.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Petrus van Schendel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch the Market Place, Rotterdam in May 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 624,287.25).
