Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stolen Moments, from Interiors II by Peter Milton was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 614.40 (€ 536.97). Admittedly, works by Peter Milton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Daylilies (Mcnulty 96) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,248.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Stolen Moments, from Interiors II von Peter Milton im Januar 2024 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 614,40 (€ 536,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Milton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Daylilies (Mcnulty 96) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.248,63).
