It achieved a price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,841.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Percy Wyndham Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red portrait, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 39,950.00 (€ 63,325.67).

Die Arbeit Head of Ezra Pound von Percy Wyndham Lewis wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.841,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Für andere Arbeiten von Percy Wyndham Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red portrait beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für GBP 39.950,00 (€ 63.325,67) versteigert wurde.
