In February 2007 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Danse Macabre by Paul Wyeth. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,601.06), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Wyeth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At the fair, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,088.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Danse Macabre von Paul Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.601,06) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Wyeth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit At the fair beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.088,88) versteigert wurde.
