Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jimi Hendrix at Portobello by Paul Wyeth was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,589.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Wyeth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At the fair, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,088.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Jimi Hendrix at Portobello von Paul Wyeth kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.589,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Wyeth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit At the fair beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.088,88) versteigert wurde.
