Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Road Through the Desert 25 1/4 x 30 in. framed 34 1/2 x 39 1/2 in. by Paul Lauritz was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,400.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,024.00 (€ 938.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Lauritz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work California valley with poppies and lupine in April last year with an auction result of USD 21,675.00 (€ 20,570.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Road Through the Desert 25 1/4 x 30 in. framed 34 1/2 x 39 1/2 in. von Paul Lauritz im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.400,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.024,00 (€ 938,76) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Lauritz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit California valley with poppies and lupine im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.675,00 (€ 20.570,37).
